Japanese Simple Emergency Toilet Is For Doing Your Business On The Go

Like a wise man (not the guy in the picture)  once said: When you gotta go, you gotta go. This rather non-brainy invention is an insta-toilet for those unfortunate occasions when instant relief cannot spare a trip to the john. So what to do? Pull this bag out of its container (it’s small enough for a pants pocket) and step inside. Don’t worry about the smell; you can put fragrant pills inside to diffuse the stink.

Simple Emergency Toilet
The Simple Emergency Toilet is actually meant for the thousands of displaced people along Japan’s quake-ravaged eastern coastline. Due to the collapse of infrastructure and thin spread of emergency facilities, sanitation outlets might not be available. In such cases, an easy way to dispose of human waste is by keeping them in bags. It also prevents bacteria from infecting water supplies, like what happened in Haiti’s post-quake refugee camps.

There’s a cool video demonstration on its proper use available. Here it is:

Microsoft To Preview Windows 8 For Tablets Next Week?

We have been hearing rumors for a while that Microsoft would soon be demoing Windows 8 for tablets, and now according to a recent report we may get the first demonstration of Windows 8 for tablets as early as next week.
Bloomberg are reporting that Microsoft will show off the new Windows 8 touchscreen user interface running on hardware with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, and we may see something at the All Things Digital D9 conference which takes place from the 31st of May until the 2nd of June.

Microsoft could also show off their new Windows 8 for tablets at Computex 2011, and it will be interesting to see what Windows 8 is actually like, and whether it will be able to compete with Apple’s iOS for the iPad and Google’s Android Honeycomb for tablets.

Cadence 4-Bit Chronograph is the Geeks Watch

There are many watches on the market today that cater to the tech geek wanting a wristwatch, but wanting something with geek style too. The latest of this sort of watch is the 4-bit Binary Chronograph Watch. The geek factor of this watch is the replacement of the numbers on the face with binary.

At the normal positions on the watch face are rows of four blocks that each have the binary representation of the number they represent. The watch case has a 42mm stainless steel case and the hands glow to make it easy to see in the dark.
The watch uses a battery, needs no wingding, and is water resistant to 5ATM. The crystal is sapphire coated quartz glass. The watchband is leather. You can pre order the watch now for July delivery for 40% off the normal $195 price.
